BinHex is a standard algorithm to take Macintosh data (like applications or documents) and translate them into readable text. The text can then be uploaded via modem and sent around the world by electronic mail, and the recipient can download it and deBinHex it to get an exact copy of the original data.
It is the philosophy of MerriMac Software Group that every program should be able to deBinHex. To deBinHex a file, select “DeBinHex...” from the “File” menu and select the file. Under system 7 or later, you can drag a BinHex file onto the Halma icon in the Finder, and Halma will deBinHex the file automatically.
